Our little walk to the waterfront

We went for a walk on a trail that goes down to the water. Danica was picking flowers and throwing rocks in the water. That's just a recipe for disaster. :)

Morgan was pretty cute. She was in a good mood.

The next thing I knew, Danica was face first in the salt water of the inlet. :)

Notice, she's still holding her flower. We took her home and threw her in the shower. I had to taker her flower away to get her in the shower. :)

Well, my due date was today, but our newest addition decided to come 9 days ago. :)
Morgan Elizabeth Atwell was born on January 1st, 2009 at 5:04 am. (No, she wasn't the first born at the hospital. Someone else had a baby at 4 minutes past midnight.)
She was 7 pounds, 9 ounces, 20 1/2 inches.
She is a good eater and was already past her birth weight at 6 days old. She is very snuggly and sleeps a lot. I only get up with her twice a night so far. She has been a lot easier than Danica was, but I think it's because I've done this before. :)

2-year/Fall/Halloween pictures

We got Danica's pictures taken earlier this month and I just got the e-mail from JC Penney that they were available online. We combined her 2 year, fall and Halloween pictures because they all fall so close together. I can't believe my baby is going to be 2 this month!!
We had a really hard time getting good pictures with the hood on her costume.

I usually don't get the multi-image sheets because they are so expensive, but they gave us a free frame and the border was so dang cute!!
I love this one. I'm not sure why I didn't get a hard copy of it.
Can you tell her shoes were just a little too big to wear without socks? :)

I think she looks like such a big girl with her hair done like this.
Little miss shorty pants. :) We always have to roll her pants so she doesn't walk on them.

Don't let her be too deceiving. You should know she is not this precious all the time. ;)

Goggles

Danica's friend Xavier was over at my house while his Mom, Stephanie and her husband John were out to dinner. Danica found an old pair of goggles of mine so I put them on the kids. ;)

Rocking with Daddy

Matt has this game for the Wii called Guitar Hero III and he's getting really good at it. Danica likes to watch Daddy play his guitar and I found a really fun toy guitar for her. I was making dinner and Matt was playing his game when I started to hear Danica's toy guitar making noise. She was rocking out with Daddy. ;)

Camping

On Thursday, we went out to Wildhorse Reservoir to go camping. The first day was really nice. Danica got a little sun on her nose and cheeks because the sunblock rubbed off in that spot. I felt so bad. I got really sunburned everywhere because I was so preoccupied with getting sunblock on Danica. :)

Naked swimming

We were about to eat dinner and Danica decided it was time to go swimming. I didn't have time to get her suit and swim diaper, so I just stripped her down and let her take a dip before dinner. I made sure to only get side and butt shots. :)

Grandma has a great little pool in the back yard. It's supposed to be for Timex (the dog) but we cleaned it out so Danica could go "swimming". This is what the braids looked like later in the day, by the way. ;)

Elko trip

Danica and I took a little vacation to Elko to visit Grandma Christy, "Papa" Jim and Uncle Daniel. My mom hasn't had the chance to french braid a little girl's hair in a long time, so she was super excited for Danica and I to come out. The braids didn't last long on this "almost 2 year old" so I knew I needed to take pictures right after they were done. :)

Danica's first trainies

We've been trying to potty train Danica for a while now, and she doesn't seem to mind having a wet diaper. So I thought if she felt the wetness without the diaper, she might want to go in the potty more. Here is Danica's first pair of "trainies". (That's what Marianne and I called the really thick panties we used to wear when we were little). I got a little nervous with just the panties on, so I put a pair of nylon underwear over them. :) She thought they were really fun. I hope this leads to faster and better potty training so we don't have to have 2 in diapers come January!

We have Danica's strollers on the back deck. We heard her playing outside and noticed she was sitting in one of her strollers. :) It was like she was driving. It was really funny.

Our neighbor gave Danica this slide after her daughter grew out of it. I was pretty impressed that she figured out how to climb up it and slide down pretty quickly.

I've been friends with his mom, Stephanie since we were pregnant with these two. He is exactly a week older than Danica. They are so cute together. :) Danica gets all girly and giggley when Xavier shows up. I don't think he knows what to think about girls yet. She tries to tickle him and he yells at her. :) Their favorite thing to do lately is run up and down the halls and scream.
